Organized by the Hong Kong Athletes Career and Education Department (HKACED) under the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC), the first leg of the “Empowering Dreams, Building Legacy” Roving Carnival successfully concluded at New Town Plaza in Sha Tin. Over 74,000 members of the public joined across several days, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere.

Marking the 75th anniversary of SF&OC, the Carnival featured a variety of sports experiences themed around “75” and showcased HKACED’s long-standing efforts to support athletes — from helping them plan diverse career pathways to enabling them to pursue their sporting dreams without worries. With the 20th Asian Games about to begin, a dedicated themed zone was set up to display the newly designed uniforms for the Hong Kong, China Delegation, alongside interactive installations featuring athletes’ inspirational quotes, encouraging the public to cheer on the athletes.

One of the highlights took place on 5 and 6 September (Saturday and Sunday), when several Hong Kong athletes and HKACED Ambassadors participated in the event. They shared their sporting journeys and engaged with the public, drawing large crowds and creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the weekend.

Athletes Share Their Journeys of Transformation 

LEE Ho Ching, bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympics Table Tennis Women's Team event, encouraged athletes preparing for the upcoming Asian Games during the sharing session. She said, “Approach the competitions with a relaxed mindset, believe in yourself, your teammates, and your coaches, and face the challenges with the collective strength of the team.”

Also speaking at the session, WONG Cheuk Ning (Athletics), who will soon compete at the Asian Games, said, “Our training and preparation are now in full swing as we enter the final phase. At this moment, I feel both relaxed and excited. I hope to maintain peak condition, embrace the Games, and achieve a new personal best.”

Beyond athlete sharing, the Carnival also featured dynamic sports demonstrations, including football, karate, rope skipping, and wushu, showcasing the energy and professionalism of athletes. Team Hong Kong, China mascot, Rock, also made an appearance to interact with the public and pose for photos, adding to the vibrant ambience. The Asian Games themed area displayed the newly designed uniforms of the Hong Kong, China Delegation, incorporating the iconic landmark Lion Rock to symbolise the athletes’ perseverance, attracting many visitors to explore and enjoy.

Next Stop: Kwun Tong apm Continues to Offer “75” Themed Challenges and Mascot Meet & Greet

The second leg of the Roving Carnival will be held from 11 to 13 September (Friday to Sunday) at apm in Kwun Tong. Visitors can continue to enjoy the four interactive sports experience zones themed on “75”, view the new Asian Games uniforms, explore installations featuring athletes’ inspirational quotes, join athlete sharing sessions, and meet mascot Rock. Admission is free, and participants who complete the sports experiences can redeem exclusive souvenirs.
