Assistant Manager (Physical Education) I/II

The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is responsible for the provision of services to students and the implementation of integrated co-curricular learning programmes in support of the whole-person development of students at the University.  The appointee will work in the OSA's Wellness Promotion & Financial Support Division, facilitating the development of physical education, leading sports teams, and promoting physical wellness and a vibrant campus life for students.
 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the formation and management of sports teams
  • Provide diversified trainings and collaborate with coaches and stakeholders to ensure smooth operation and optimal performance of the teams
  • Formulate, implement, and review strategic plans to promote physical fitness and well-being that align with Integrated Learning Objectives 
  • Assist in recruiting and admitting elite athletes and provide professional assistance
  • Provide support in organising sports events and ceremonies
  • Represent the University by serving as convenors and member of the relevant committees in the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China (USFHK)
  • Work outside normal office hours, including weekends when required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
     

Requirements

  • A recognised degree in Management, Physical Education, Sports Science or related disciplines
  • At least five years of relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in the tertiary education sector or recognised organisations with managerial experience
  • Extensive experience in managing sports teams and organising recreational and physical wellness activities
  • Familiarity with relevant sports regulations, safety protocols, and best practices
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Proficiency in English, Cantonese and Putonghua
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
     

Candidates with less/more experience will be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
 

Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
