Physical Education Officer in the Student Development Services

Duties

Reporting to the Associate Director (Physical Education), the appointee will be required to:

  1. Teach regular Physical Education Courses;
  2. Be a coach or team manager of CityUHK Sports Teams;
  3. Assist Senior PE Officer (Sports Facilities Management) in matters relating to the management of the sports facilities;
  4. Assist in supervising front-line staff to operate the on-campus sports facilities;
  5. Assist in organising the Physical Fitness Room and coordinate fitness training programmes for sports teams members and CityUHK community members;
  6. Assist in the development and operation of the Sports Facilities Booking and Information System;
  7. Be responsible for the purchasing and keeping the inventory for the sports facilities equipment;
  8. Assist in the recruitment and the caring programme for the Non-Local Student Athletes under the Outstanding Athletes Entrance Scholarship for Non-Local Students;
  9. Be the organiser of Sports for All Sports Clubs, Wellness for All programmes, and Healthy-U activities; and
  10. Perform any other duties as assigned.

The appointee may be required to work on irregular hours.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education/Sports and Recreation Administration, preferably with experience in the management of the Physical Fitness Room and specialises in personal training;
  2. Excellent command of English and Chinese; and
  3. Being attentive to details, good problem-solving and supervisory skills, and demonstrated ability to work independently in a multi-tasked environment are required.
  4. High proficiency in computer operations, good knowledge of computer skills (e.g. database management and statistical analyses), and good communication skills are preferred.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
