Position: Events Manager
Job Description:
- Plan and execute international events including the M-Mark event - the ‘Hong Kong Cricket Sixes’
- Prepare event budgets and monitoring event costs and revenues against budget
- Oversee all aspects of event delivery such as security, team catering, match officials’ area, signage, wayfinding and vendor management
- Manage stadium build, VIP area builds and all non-cricket elements of event management
- Orchestrate all event/tournament timelines, and manage the deliverables of the team
- Negotiate with vendors to achieve best value for Cricket Hong Kong, China
- Manage temporary event staff and vendors on-site during the event
- Liaise with LCSD and CSTB regarding M-Mark/MLIE applications and assist in providing information to them for the purposes of their funding applications
- Be responsible for tracking and evaluating the effectiveness of assigned events and manage all event operations
Requirements:
- Knowledge of major sports events in Hong Kong is a major advantage for applicants
- An accredited Associate Degree from a Hong Kong tertiary institution/a Higher Diploma from a polytechnic university or polytechnic in Hong Kong or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or equivalent
- Grade E/Level 2 or above in 5 subjects including English (Syllabus B) and Chinese in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or Level 2 or above in five subjects including English and Chinese in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination, or equivalent, is a must
- At least 5 years related work experience in exhibition / event management, preferably in the sports field.
- Ability to be pro-active and anticipate and resolve event issues before they arise
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
