Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional member experiences: Lead your team to continuously improve operational efficiency, establish performance standards, and provide the highest standards of customer service that delight Members and their guests at all touchpoints.

  • Develop talent and inspire teams: Plan resources effectively, allocate work fairly, arrange training to develop staff potential, and motivate your team to deliver excellence while managing and resolving all Members' and guests' issues requiring management attention.

  • Drive sports and recreation programmes: Plan and recommend innovative recreation and sports programmes according to current trends and Club Members' interests, manage the Club's official sports teams for tournament participation, and source qualified professional coaches to run high-quality programmes and courses.

  • Achieve business results: Set realistic targets for your team to achieve budget goals, plan and execute engaging events, marketing plans and promotions for Members' benefits, and continuously seek opportunities to increase revenues while managing costs without compromising service quality.

  • Ensure compliance and safety: Implement Club policies, procedures and guidelines through daily inspection of service standards, cleanliness and comfort of facilities, and ensure statutory compliance with safety records for staff and Members with no major audit non-compliance findings.

  • Manage financial performance: Ensure prudent cost allocation and control in expenditures aligned with agreed budgets and forecasts by constantly reviewing financial reports and taking remedial actions to reduce variances.

  • Foster collaboration: Work with the Membership Marketing team to promote effective marketing campaigns for products, events and services using promotional materials, and align sport and recreation policies, programmes, and facility management among the three Clubhouses.

  • Drive continuous improvement: Actively solicit Members' feedback, share results of satisfaction surveys and mystery shoppers with section heads and peers, and develop marketing programmes considering Members' demand and responses.

  • Ensure facility excellence: Regularly review and inspect facilities, monitor First-aid coordination within the Clubhouse, and constantly review and improve work practices including full investigation and improvements for safety-related matters while implementing 5-S best practices.

  • Build succession capability: Make recruitment decisions and plan succession for key positions, management trainees and supervisory trainees to ensure organizational continuity.

Requirements

  • Recreation management professional: A minimum of 5 years in the sports and leisure field of which three years have been at a managerial level, with experience in the hospitality industry required.

  • Sports and leisure expert: Strong knowledge of sports and leisure management, facility management, and current trends in recreation programming.

  • People leader: Proven ability to inspire and motivate teams, develop staff potential, and create a performance-oriented culture focused on exceptional customer service.

  • Business-minded manager: Demonstrated success in achieving budget targets, managing cost controls, and driving revenue growth while maintaining high service quality standards.

  • Member-centric focus: Ability to understand and respond to member needs, manage stakeholder relationships effectively, and resolve complex issues requiring management attention.

  • Educational background: A university degree in Recreation Management or related disciplines.

  • Language skills: Fluency in both written and spoken English is required; fluency in Cantonese is preferred, and proficiency in Mandarin is optional.
