The First-ever Career Exhibition to Athletes was successfully concluded  with the overwhelming support of
corporates to local retired athletes

The first-ever Career Exhibition to local athletes, namely “HKACEP Athletes Career Exhibition” was successfully concluded today (October 16) at Olympic House, Causeway Bay. In order to facilitate athletes’ smooth career transformation upon their athletic retirement as well as to strengthen the connection between athletes and their potential employers, over 20 corporates from different industries, including MTR Corporation Limited, New World Development Company Limited, Hopewell Holdings Limited, and DHL Express (Hong Kong) Limited showed their staunch support in this Exhibition to provide the latest job market information and job opportunities through the provision of career-related seminars and workshops, display of corporates information booth and the newly launched online job seeking platform.

Mr. Ronnie WONG Man-chiu, JP, Hon. Secretary General of the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) thanked the staunch support from different HKSAR Government departments, corporates and education institutes enabling athletes to continue to contribute to the society after their athletic retirement. When organizations are facing talent recruitment challenges, we have obtained a pool of well-trained athletes who are striving hard for opportunities to develop their “second career” after sporting life, through the support of Hong Kong Athletes Career and Education Programme (HKACEP) under auspices of SF&OC. The Federation welcomes more corporates for being the supporting organizations of HKACEP to provide more job opportunities to our athletes in achieving a win-win situation.

The HKACEP serves to support local athletes for a successful career transformation after their athletic retirement. Since its launch in 2008, HKACEP has been cooperating with different Government departments, corporates and education institutes to provide support to athletes including athletes’ consultation, career development, education and life skills training, benefitting over 1,000 athletes from 45 sports disciplines.
